Global temperature do tend to fluctuate from year to year.
Last year’s average global temperature was 14.4C, making 2011 the hottest years in the last decade.
The start towards milder temperatures this year especially in the southern hemisphere is due to La Nina.
La Nina`s have occurred with relative frequency in the southern Pacific ocean.
2010 was particularly active La Nina`s which did cause major flooding and storm damage to the eastern Queensland coastal areas resulting in major flooding in some of the inland regional towns and cities.
For us down under 2011 so far has been milder as regards to high temperatures.
Spain and Norway recorded their hottest year in 2011 and the second warmest for the United Kingdom.
Although temperatures seem to be on the rise there is no definite trend that we will see any sudden rise or fall in temperatures in the near future.
Predicting global temperature requires complex statistical data and like most statistics data can be manipulated. For all intense and purposes this may be part of glitch in the world’s climatic cycle.
Although human intervention may have contributed in some way there is no imperial data to suggest that any rise in temperature is directly related to the products of human existence, there many other climatic and environmental factors to be considered.
