UFO Sightings over Australia.

UFO reports are a worldwide phenomenon, many reports abound that someone has seen a strange craft with lights. Every nation on earth has reports on UFOs. Australia is no different every year we have sightings. Most are reported in the media if the story is interesting.
I try to base my opinions on UFOs from a scientific standpoint, that being most “UFOs” can be explained.
Case in point a local Queensland Channel 10 News story about a UFO Sighting Rosewood, Queensland February 22 2006. "A Rosewood woman believes she has proof that there really is life out of this world"
MsCompton captured images with her video camera that she says are of a UFO hovering near her house.
“In the sky there was just a really awesome bright white light, like just really blindingly like white.”
Ms Compton goes on to say “I'm not one to believe in that kind of thing but I reckon it might have been a UFO”
So far the story has interest is in keeping with most reports regarding UFOs, The video shows a white light. Most people see white lights on the horizon the brightest light next to the Sun and the Moon is Venus.
In this particular case after making planetary calculations with the time (date: 22/02/2006 Time: 3.00am) the calculations show that Venus was the “UFO” shot in the video footage.
I have produced this image from a not to sophisticated software program. The times for the planets position and times are available in printed form on the net.
When Venus is seen low on the horizon it can be very bright the shape is distorted by the air turbulence just the over the horizon making it appear much larger.
Another recent report of an UFO over Nowra N.S.W in June this year.
At 11:30am an object flying low and slow over golf course Nowra, reported flying west east. The person reportedly seeing a military helicopter following another craft about two lengths behind. The front craft was a rounded triangle shape, about the size of the helicopter without tail or rotor blades.
There are numerous worldwide reports of triangle like looking craft. Some are military craft some are radar target drones used for training purposes. The most plausible explanation is that Nowra being near a military facility the triangle craft in front of the helicopter may have been a remote control aircraft perhaps a radar target drone.

But in this case there were no UFOs just a factual scientific explaination.
