One of my obsessions is astronomy and photography I have an interest in paranormal activity.
I have been fortunate to be able to photograph a wide variety of subject matter from news stories to astrophotography. I have just taken possession of a new Nikon D80 digital camera and I was eager to try some astro photography you can see some of my images in previous blogs about Venus and Saturn. I am very pleased with results.
A few evenings ago I took some images just after sunset and when I downloaded them into my computer I noticed some light aberration on some of the images
UREKA I have found a UFO!!Unfortunately that was not the case.!!!
I just happen to work in the field of forensic video imaging and I subsequently had to debunk my own images what was the cause of these aberrations?. I had suspected the digital image sensor was the culprit and I checked the senor array and there was one dead pixel one in ten million no biggy there. Next I checked my exposures with the data provided by the camera imprint on the images showed nothing out of the ordinary. I checked the lenses and fittings all checked out fine. Well it wasn’t a UFO because the anomaly shown was constant throughout all the images of the night sky taken that evening. I proceeded to take the camera apart and after moving the mirror assembly exposing the digital imaging sensor… nothing!!! I still wasn’t convinced so I used a magnifying eyepiece and after peering into the image sensor I found it!! a small speck of dust….. Do'H
I have included some images of the "suspeck' UFO wide angle shot below.
