Total Eclipse of the Sun

Sunday July 11 2010 a light changing show will appear at sunrise as the morning Sun slowly becomes dark. The skies above a wide area of the South Pacific and southern Argentina including Chile. Its time for the annual total eclipse of the Sun, this occurs as a result of the Earth and the Moon being in perfect alignment enough to block out the Sun.
The Moon passes between the Sun and Earth to produce a total solar eclipse. I have been fortunate to see several total eclipses and it never gets dull when the sky starts to become dim in broad daylight as the shadow of the Moon descends on small area of Earth's surface.
The July 11 eclipse starts at sunrise about 700 kilometers southeast of the South Pacific island of Tonga, with the Moon's shadow moving toward the northeast before ending at sunset at the tip of South America. Most of the eclipse is over the ocean, although a few scattered islands will also see the show Tahiti and Easter island where the eclipse is near totality. Unfortunately the rest of the world will miss out this year.

It’s a very eerie feeling seeing a full total eclipse, if you get a chance to see only one its worth the experience.
