The Lost City Of Atlantis Makes A Brief “Appearance”

Well not really, the story started around 2009 when a member of the general public glanced at an oceanographic map taken by Google Ocean.
The map initially showed what seemed to be a grid like pattern similar to ancient towns and cities.

The excitement gained momentum as a group of researchers thought that had discovered the ancient city of Atlantis.

According to Greek philosopher Plato in his writings circa 357 B.C mentioned the city of Atlantis sank in the Atlantic Ocean.

The “lost” Atlantian city was located on the ocean floor about 600 miles off the coast of north west Africa in the vicinity of the Canary Islands.

The network of lines in the form of a rectangle was said to be 620 miles off the coast of north west Africa near the Canary Islands on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.

According to some reports made in the last few days the “Lost city” although man made was not the real city of Atlantis. It turns out the structure was not beneath the ocean after all, in fact the
pattern first seen 2009 turns out to be a technical anomaly.

Sonar (sound) waves are bounced off the ocean floor to measure the ocean’s topography. The data is collected and distributed to various scientific organisations some is given to Google.

The data is then compiled by computer software and maps of the ocean are produced.

It is possible that the older data archived back in 2009 had inconsistencies within the data program.

The latest data taken recently over the same area from various researchers and oceanographers does not show any structure being there.

The city of Atlantis (assuming it actually existed) will for the time being remain lost .

The oceans hide a million secrets, CMore, some good, some bad, some just fascinating. Imagine how boring the world would be if there were no great mysteries to solve? Atlantis will probably always be hidden, just on the edge of memory, calling to the dreamers and the seekers with a siren song.

Hi S.L. James,

Perhaps we all need a little mystery in our lives.

Thank you both for comments.
