The Clock is Ticking

The clock is ticking, it is not your average run of the mill clock. I am referring to the Doomsday clock dating back
to 1947.
Scientists created the Doomsday clock as a barometer of how close the world is to an nuclear oblivion.
In 2007 the clock was at five minutes to midnight the result of increasing nuclear tensions at the time.
In 2010 the clock was moved back a minute from midnight. This was based in part on new global nuclear co-operation initiatives and the election of President Barack Obama.
The decision in the current view of recent global events has pushes the clock back to the time it was in 2007.
The clock is now at four minutes to midnight. Global uncertainty, the Japanese nuclear power plant malfunctions following a tsunami.
The new political regime in South Korea and the problems associated with Iran’s push for nuclear enrichment plants.
While nuclear war is always possible, some nations will engage in posturing and rattling their nuclear sabres.
When these nations have done with measuring, perhaps common sense will prevail.

The Political Brief
The Occupy movement is the "liberal answer to the TEA Party". It's a very poor answer, too. While the TEA Party folks showed up, made their point, cleaned up after themselves and went home (at their own expense), the OWS crowd are rude, destructive, dangerous, and heavily supported by a strange group of people. Have you read the list of their supporters? Democrats (of course), the Nazi Party, the American Communist Party, the KKK, and a bunch of others that decent people want nothing to do with. It is hardly a "grass roots" movement.
With BO (BS)'s new infatuation with al Qieda, the world is even more dangerous, too. He is planning to release terrorists from Gitmo and open talks with them. VP Joe Biden doesn't consider them terrorists or enemies at all.
The clock is ticking, all right. Closer to midnight by the second...
