The Dingo is said to have migrated to Australia sometime around 20.000 years ago from China
The crossing took place using a land bridge connecting lower Asia with the Australian main land.
The Dingo is an Australian “wild” dog and a close ancestor to the wolf. The Dingo is mostly a solitary animal and remains undomesticated.
The Australian aboriginals and the Dingo have a long history. The Dingo is a sleek slender dog built for endurance and speed the Dingo is mostly nomadic and can cover thousands of miles. Keeping a dingo as a pet is not advisable unlike most domesticated dog the Dingo can have some bad habits. You have to remember that part of the makeup of the breed has remained mostly wild and unchanged over many thousands of years.
The dingo is a very skilled hunter and is a highly intelligent animal. It can stork its prey for many day and has been known remove an infant from it’s bed. A few documented incidents have occurred over the years involving a death of a child and the abduction of infants.
We must remember that we are dealing with essentially a wild dog although they can appear cute. They remain a truly magnificent animal a breed that has for the most part kept
The Dingo shares similar characteristic with the wolf.Like its counterpart the wolf the dingo can also howl and is able to communications over long distances. They mostly use howling as a means to find family or look for the rest of the hunting pack.

The Dingo has been given a bad wrap at times. It is still a beautiful living creature and has an important role in Australian culture.
