Well not exactly, but the planets do have something in common with the art of the dance.
If you happen to live in the Northern Hemisphere and just happen to be an early riser then your in luck.
You will need to have a clear view to the eastern horizon from mid April to May in the early morning light just before sunrise. You will be greeted by four planets on each and every morning until the end of May 2011.
Southern Hemisphere observers will be able to see the planets perform. Viewers in Australia will need to be up before 5:45 AM. Look towards the Eastern horizon just before the Sunrise.
Venus will the first planet visible Mars, Mercury and last but not least Jupiter can be seen just before the sunlight hits the early morning sky.
You don’t get to see a group of planets in such close proximity very often.
Venus Jupiter and mars are easily visible as they are the brightest planets in the group.
Venus appears to rise at the same location the morning sky at around 3 degrees above the horizon. In about mid May Jupiter will begin to climb above Venues, by the end of the month of May you will most likely spot Jupiter first.
Mercury is much fainter than the rest so you will need to look carefully. If you happen to be out and about in the wee morning hours it is worth a look, keep track as the planets perform their little “dance” moving a little each morning. If you are fortunate to have a easterly location that is completely unobstructed you will have a great view of the “proceedings”
