Saturn's Stormy Rift

The world’s weather patterns have an affect on our environment.
Earth undergoes hundreds of thunderstorms on a daily basis.
A thunderstorm in one part of the world does not necessary
affect other parts of the world, although there are other factors
That have some sort of flow on effect.
Imaging if there was a severe storm that has the potential to
Spread throughout the whole hemisphere of a planet. The
Potential for Storms of these magnitude on Earth are extremely
Rare with the exceptions of our gas giants Saturn Jupiter.
Uranus and Neptune also have mega storms. The giant red spot
on Jupiter is a mega storm the size of Earth. The storm was first
spotted 300 years ago and is still raging. Saturn has developed
a storm, it started out as a small spot on the planet’s northern
hemisphere. In a matter of a few days, the dot grew into
and longer.
The Mega storm triggered lightning flashes
thousands of times more intense than those generated on
Earth. Ground based telescopes have been tracking the turbulence
since late 2010.The storm is visible from Earth and can be seen
with a12 inch telescope.
The huge storm is known as a "Great White Spot". Saturn is usually
calm and hazy storms of this magnitude are rare. Since 1876,
astronomers have only seen five other storms spanning an entire
hemisphere on Saturn.
The cause of the storm is uncertain
it is probable that a change in season might be the prime cause.
