The ROSAT scientific is expected to hit Earth sometime this Sunday afternoon Australian Eastern Standard time.
The dead satellite is expected to burn up by the time this blog gets published.
Around 30 fragments weighing a total of 1.7 metric tons are suspected to survive the fiery re-entry. Large fragments of this size could crash to earth at speeds up to 450km/h.
With a bit of luck most of it will land in the sea, most likely the pacific ocean. I was hoping it would burn up burn up during the evening at least there may be a chance of seeing something burn up.

Hi S.L.
Unfortunately I did not see anything unusual.
The 11 year Solar cycle is about to reach its peak in the next year.
Earth's atmosphere will expand causing more drag. Some lower satellites that have decayed may re enter Earth’s atmosphere. More defunct satellites will burn up in the upper atmosphere.
Perhaps we won’t see any larger satellites fall just yet.
Parts of ROSAT fell mainly of over SE Asia
No reports of damage reported at this stage.
