The white spot in the middle is the very center of the galaxy, which also marks the site of a supermassive black hole
Trying to see a black hole is like trying to see an invisible eye of immense proportion.
We can see the effects that a black hole may have on an adjacent star or galaxies, yet the enigma remains hidden from our gaze, It almost sound religious.
Black hole are powerful enough that even light cannot escape from their reach.
All that may be about to change, if an international scientific consortium have their way.
Astronomers and scientist from all over the world will combine over 50 radio telescopes worldwide to create a single Earth-sized telescope to image the enormous black hole at the centre of our galaxy.
Almost every galaxy has at least one black hole and there is strong evidence that suggests we have an “invisible” monster lurking in the middle of our galaxy.
Scientists and researchers will soon meet to discuss and coordinate the details of the Event Horizon Telescope.
The telescope will endeavour to image Sagittarius A-star’s accretion disk and the “shadow” of its event horizon. If successful it will be a world’s.
So far no one has taken an of a black hole.
Sagittarius A-star is a formidable black hole with an estimated combined mass of 4 million Suns.
A project of this magnitude will take some time to complete if all goes to plan the goal of imaging a black hole will be achieved within the next 10 years.

I am sure glad that most politicians are not scientists.
