New Video images of the Moon

March 17th 2008 10:33
Japan’s new Kaguya spacecraft has taken some stunning images of the moon ,the first new high quality images taken since the Apollo era.

Rounding the Lunar curve

The spacecraft is from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched in September last year and currently in lunar orbit. It released two smaller probes into higher orbit the three probes will work together to study and map gravity fields on the moon the study will help clarify the moon’s makeup structure. I have seen the ( H.D )high definition video of the moon taken by the spacecraft and the view was absolutely stunning.

Selene (Refers to the moon goddess)

I have added a few links to the video streams of the lunar surface. Although these videos are not in HD they are still great to see. In particular I like the image of the earth coming into view over the moon’s horizon you can make out the outline of Australia and the Antarctic ice cap.

..interesting...and what of the dark side? They show much of that?

Any comments on why it is hollow, and why the rocket casing impact (years ago) caused a nearly four hour echo and was similar to metal?

Fantastic footage! Not much to do there though, there's no atmosphere!

Hi Fog, Anon

Yes dark side shown in the video.

You know the Moon is made from cheese don't you?

why would you want an atmosphere?, life would pretty boring on the moon not to mention lonely as well.

what that ringing all about ? oh I forgot to take the cheese out of my ears again

ho ho ho ho Carl!

No, I'm not imitating Santa Claus, or calling you a....whatever!

However, I do note the change in your usual placcid tone, to one of juvenile sarcasm! You're not training to become a stand up comedian are you...don't do it, unless you need to lose weight!!

The accounts I refer to were published in The Sydney Morning Herald, and also covered on televison news bulletins.

It was my usually extremely skeptical father, a highly regarded exploration geologist, who pointed out the fact that, with the echo from the impact continuing for nearly four hours, must mean the moon was hollow!

And while we are at it, mister stand up comic, why don't you entertain everyone with your story about the Apollo Mission, and what was said but not broadcast...

By the way, why not try something different, try and be a little more like a scientist and do some research into this area, instead of remaining with the usual ignorant mob, who attack the messenger, and ignore doing any independant investigation!

I suggest you start with the doco "Apollo 11: The Untold Story" a programme run recently on the ABC, (I told you about previously), but to remind you;

in it astronaut Buzz Aldrin casually talks about all the UFOs that accompanied them along the way to the moon, and how many other astronauts had the same experience!

ho ho ho...

Fog,

I am sorry to sound like a comedian but I am sick of having to talk about things you and I have spoken about previously.

I have discussed this topic with on previous occasions. Either you have forgotten or misplaced my emails relating the hollow moon affect. If you have bothered to remember what was I said about the matter.
For the matter of record let me say in similar words what I said to you previously. The fact is Fog, that the moon is 60% less dense than Earth. I am of the opinion that the moon is just that "hollow" the Moon does not have an iron core or a core that is significant small this is why the ringing has occurred. Whether you say the moon is hollow I agree in part depending how you define hollow.

In regards to what I the Apollo mission you got that all wrong as well if you bothered to download the recorded messages of the from the mission. There where segments for radio operators who have recorded evidence that portions of the Media version of the broadcast was edited and parts the conversation was censored. That may have been the case.

Here is my link regarding what I wrote on one of the Apollo stories.
Really Long Link

In regards to documentaries, documentary makers have their own agendas (meaning I don’t believe or disbelieve everything they say. Yes I have an open mind. What the astronauts saw is a matter of personal perception. (The brain can do same strange things under space conditions)

Obviously you have personal issues whit this topic at no times have I cast aspersions on your father’s findings.

I take offense to your remarks “do more research” I am a scientist and researcher have been for many years Pal.

No Carl, you are mistaken in this instance.

A gross assumption, as you have made here, is not good science, as you should know. Without actually investigating, by watching the doco in question, that is all you are basing your opinion on.

Your pontification is opinion, not fact based research.

What I referred to was filmed by the astronauts themselves, and the doco (Apollo 11: The Untold Story) showed the film the astronauts shot of the UFO, with Aldrin commenting about it.

You base your arguments on just one documentary? The only research conducted on this documentary is more for dramatic effect rather than just science. This documentary did not convince me of the existence of any extra terrestrials. My point is that they may be alien life forms however there is no empirical research to prove or disprove this.

The documentary you speak is mostly about the risks involved in space travel and the associated problems of going to the Moon.
You speak of what Aldrin saw. Yes they did see objects most of which consisted of residue of ice build up outside the space craft. The filaments strands were later analysed to be debris from the Lunar Landing Module. The clouds are most likely to be either hydrazine venting from the attitude thrusters or waste products being dumped.
There is a lot of talk about a cover-up. Where is the proof? There is no proof either way, just a lot of speculation to sell books and documentaries mostly for profit and perhaps make a "name " for yourself in the industry.
Most of the things the astronauts saw can be accounted for by simple deduction and common sense. It is well documented.

If you bothered to do your research you would no doubt see references to astronauts seeing lights while in space. These lights occurred when cosmic rays struck the astronauts retina which the brain converted them as lights.

As far as I am concerned lets agree to disagree.

As a matter of fact I have done a great deal of research in this area and I am neither a fool, nor have I been hallucinating and I am not a congenital idiot; which is more than I can say for the usual run of the mill debunker, who usually operates on the basis of, "well if it is true the government would tell us." How utterly simplistic is that kind of thinking, for it presumes governments keep no secrets, and always tell the truth!

I have seen a UFO twice, once at 11pm, when living in Montmorency, Victoria, in 2004, and once in Katoomba, N.S.W. this year, this time at 5pm, still daylight. Both sightings of the crafts were at close enough range to clearly make out the shape, colour, and other details.

In both incidents, I was with another person, who corroberated what I saw, which was by NO MEANS a craft that looked civilian, or military; no exothermic thrust...no engines...

The truth, as they say, really is out there, if anyone bothers to have a look!

cheers
