Luna orbiter finds signs of past Apollo missions
November 23rd 2009 05:53
Recently NASA’s Luna reconnaissance orbiter photographed images of some of the Apollo missions. 40 years on the controversy still continues whether or not the Apollo missions actually went to the moon.
With recent advances in technology especially in the imaging department has enabled us to get detailed images of the moon surface. In doing so Luna orbiter captured images of Apollo 11's lunar landing module and also the Apollo 14 Lander descent module. The lunar orbiter imaged five of the six Apollo landing sites between the 11th and July 15 of this year.
The Apollo 14 lunar module has a distinct shadow the lighting conditions when these images were taken even show traces of the astronauts boot prints and scientific instruments left on the moon surface.
