No sure that “Lucy” has anything to do with it, but it would make one gem
of a planet.
The raw materials are readily available in stars and planets throughout the universe. The odds suggest that there may well be objects in space made from this super hard material. Finding such an object has been difficult, but a team of researchers think that they have finally cracked it. found the remnant of a planet that was once a large star.
The planet was detected orbiting a remnant star discovered in 2009 is located in our Milky Way galaxy. The star has become a pulsar.
The Pulsar has a diameter of 20km and is radiating electromagnetic energy much like a light shining from a coastal lighthouse.
Initially detected by researchers from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne Australia.
The discovery was aided by collaboration with the Parks radio telescope in central New South Wales (NSW) The Parks radio telescope was the first radio telescope to beam the Moon landing television video.
The planet is rather small but don’t let size fool you it does have a mass bigger that our planet Jupiter.

This only the third time that a planet has been found orbiting a pulsar. Objects like there are rare and are formed under very special circumstances.
When the original star self destructed and became a high energy pulsar would have obliterated an somewhat ordinary planet.
This one survived partly due it’s structure and composition consists of a crystalline base material and is similar to a diamond.
If your thinking of capturing this fine gem it would take a round trip of only 8000 light years.

The Political Brief
Seriously, the mineral possibilities alone should keep us exploring space. NASA should be out there, looking for Helium3 and setting up refineries, studying the mineral content of asteroids for mining instead of sitting around finding ways to make Muslims proud of themselves. It's such a travesty.

I agree with both statements S. L.
Well the world’s consensus seems to be let’s use up all our resources first them we look for new energy.
Now is the time we should be looking for new opportunities before we cannot afford to do so.
Brings back visions of Nero “fiddling” while Rome was burning. Reminds you of anyone?
