Humans the World’s Most Expensive Lab Rats.

We all thought at one time or another that we just had enough living in the rat race that some of us refer to as living the lifestyle. The endless traffic gridlock the pollution the financial stress its makes you think that you would like to check out for a while. I don’t mean end it all, just take a break for the mundane daily grind.

Currently the majority of us live in a world that is fast and furious we tend to work harder and longer hours than we ever did in the past.
As we all go about our daily business we tend not to notice that world is spinning on its axis at around 1400 MPH. The Sun together with the rest of Solar system is moving within our galaxy.

Sometimes I think that “someone” is watching us as we spin around in our world, and perhaps just for a moment we are being watched like a person in a pet store watching a mouse running endlessly within a caged wheel.

I am fortunate that I no longer live in the “rat race” but for many years I did, like most of us we need to work make a living have children. I guess as I am now enjoying the last of the “summer wine” you tend to reflect on the past and think why in the heck did I go through all that!

Borrowing a phrase from the past history an Australian legendary highway man /bush ranger Ned Kelly who was said to utter these words just before being hanged “Such is Life”

Sometimes we just need to take a break smell the flowers, take time off for ourselves because we only get one chance to live life as we know it.
At the end of the day some may well ask “ are Humans really the World’s Most Expensive Lab Rats ?”

Lately, CMore, I've been reminded that the fame and fortune most folks seek is transitory at best. We spend all our younger days working for the future, as the present slips past. After a lifetime in the rat race and daily grind, most people can look forward to retirement. If their health lasts. Sadly, some of us aren't lucky enough to enjoy the fabled "golden years".Perhaps old Ned had a point, such is life... and we should make the most of every minute.

Hello S.L.

Very aptly put, your sentiments are shared with so many as if Life’s frustration isn’t bad enough we have to put up with leader s who have lost the plot.

Currently I am battling with prostate cancer yet I remain positive, I have still a lot to do in my bucket list. LOL

Cancer is a terrible disease, CMore. I'll pray that you're healed quickly! Cancer has also come to our house, again. Sort of changes one's perspective on lots of things...
