Have we Found God?

Not really, for most of us the question is rhetorical. I’m not speaking from a religious standpoint.
I’m attempting to comment on the scientific aspect in the search for the “God” particle.
The term is not referring to finding God. The term was coined because of the difficulty finding the actual particle. Presumably because it was(God dammed hard) to find.
The search has taken the better part of 50 years to actually find some evidence of the elusive.
Astrophysicists’ believe that the Higgs Boson particle is an elementary particle believed to have played a vital role in the creation of the universe after the Big Bang.
Astrophysicists are not absolutely sure if they have actually found the particle, but the results obtained from the massive Hadron Collider near Geneva strongly suggest that they have, although the results need to be confirmed.
Proponents of theoretical physics say that the “God” particle gives everything in the universe its mass. If this particle did not exist all things in the universe and indeed even the universe would not otherwise exist.
British physicist Peter Higgs was one of the first physicist to theorised that such a particle was in existence.
If the particle is proved to exist then this would help bring some of the theories regarding the sub atomic structure of atoms to light and help us better understand the fundamental nature of matter.
