Duplicate Galaxies ?

Around 30 years ago astronomers at kitt peak Arizona had found what they believed to be two galaxies.

They named these two "duplicate Galaxies" Q0957 and561.

Objects Q0957 and 561
.

The objects they had seen looked identical, both had identical shape and size and spectral analysis. These objects were believed to be in galaxies.

But these are not ordinary galaxies in fact they were not galaxies at all. The objects they thought they saw to be two objects turned out to be just one object and not a galaxy was became a little confusing how could one object be perceived as two ?.

The answer lay in Einstein's theory of space-time it became evident that the two objects were indeed one object and what was seen through the telescope was a mirror image.

The images were produced by light being bent by other forces the force of gravity produced by other stars and galaxies that lay in the path between Earth and the object in question.

The object was not a galaxy by Quasar. A Quasar is referred to be semi-stellar object meaning it was once a star that had collapsed and became a neutron star.

A neutron star is a very powerful beast indeed it has a mass of a whole star but in a compressed body with a diameter of just 40 kilometers. The weight of the neutron star would be massive with perhaps 10 times the mass of our sun.

A neutron star has immense energy it can spin on its axis at around 30 times a second. Imagine a body 30 km wide with a mass of 10 suns doing that. The energy produced around this object would distort space and time and even light. The light travelling from Q 0957 561 is
Distant Qusar 0957 561 located in the constellation of Ursa Major some 8.7 billion light years from Earth
. The light was then diverted on his journey to earth by other cosmic bodies diverting the light to form two pathways and this is what astronomers now see.
