Asteroid Earth Rondevuez this month
January 23rd 2008 06:46
Reading an article from NASA is quoted as “Asteroid 2007 TU24 has NASA concerned”.
Asteroid TU24 is heading towards and makes its approach on January 27th, 2008.
2007 TU24 was only discovered on October 11, 2007
Should we be worried?
Why haven't you heard about this from the mainstream media? Perhaps we are getting a little too complacent the odds are that we are going to get hit some time in the future.
Any sizable asteroid that is heading earthward is a cause for concern Earth has had lots of close calls from passing asteroids.
In 2002 asteroid 2001 YB5 came within 837,000 kilometers of Earth. The object 300 meters across and was travelling about 109,000 kilometers an hour had enough force to wipe out a state the size of Victoria. While 837,000 kilometers may seem a big distance it is still considered a close call in astronomy terms.
Although Asteroid TU24 will be making a close approach to earth in the next few weeks it is not a “Doomsday Asteroid” despite all the hype and misinformation on the net regarding the plasma theory the chance of an electromagnetic interference occurring is remote.
This asteroid will not impact earth the asteroid will barely have any effect on earth.
I make this assumption conditional that they may be an increase of meteors showers shortly before or just after the asteroid makes its approach. The size estimate is approximately 400 meters in length. Current calculations suggest It will miss the earth by a distance of 538.000 kilometers.
