Are Wormholes Possible?

Despite all the science fiction stories, the theory of wormholes are becoming more popular with researchers.
In order to produce and maintain a wormhole takes an enormous amount of energy. It is conceivable that a star could theatrically form a worm hole.

A group of scientists think that wormholes may exist in space. The problem is they are difficult to find because we don’t know what to look for. They may well be wormholes between stars.

Could a star be a wormhole?

It is possible that a star could be a wormhole form a distance it would look like an ordinary star.
What type of astrophysical objects could serve as a wormholes According to computer models, some of these objects such as neutron stars could look similar to stars.

If some stars could be wormhole what type of star do we look for? Neutron stars could one possibility as neutron stars have a vast of energy.

How would we spot a wormhole?

From a distance, neutron stars would look very much like normal stars but they might have a few differences that could be detectable.
To investigate these differences, the researchers have developed a model based on two ordinary stars with a tunnel at the star’s center, through which matter could move.

Two stars can share the same wormhole , since they are associated with the two mouths of the wormhole. Because exotic matter in the wormhole could flow like a fluid between the stars, both stars would likely pulse in an unusual way. This pulsing action could lead to the release of various kinds of energy, such as ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays.

The model is undergoing further study. The difficult part is calculating exactly what kinds of pulsations or oscillations are occurring, within these stars and what kind of energy is being produced.

The energy released by these objects would allow scientists to predict what a wormhole-containing star might look like from Earth some time in the future.

Wormholes, like so many other sci-fi staples may well be real, CarlCan. Whether we find them or learn how to use them is another matter. I hope we never stop looking, though!

Very informative (as usual!) The cosmos is so vast, maybe they are out there. If they do exist, maybe it will explain things.

Hi S.L. James,

thank you both for your comments.

As long as humans are curious we may have a chance in discovering new answers to past scientific questions.

Let’s hope we never lose the will to go on trying to discover new insights into questions that seem “out of the ordinary”
