Comets are common visitors to our solar system every year there are a few comets that will venture through the solar system. Don E. Machholz (Loma Prieta, California, USA) discovered this comet in 1986.
This particular comet has been found to have an interesting composition. The comet named 96P/Machholz 1 a refugee believed to have traveled from an alien planetary system outside of our own solar system.
Scientists hope to test this theory sometime in the year 2012 when the comet will be closer to earth.
The comet’s chemical composition is different to most comets found in our solar system. The most likely reason for this is because the comet was formed without any influence from our Sun in a colder environment than most other comets.
Scientists will be able to scrutinized more closely to composition of 96P/Machholz 1 in 2012 but it will be difficult to say with any certainty where the comet originated from.
The comet shows to have a depletion of carbon bearing molecules, this would strengthen the case for the comet coming from a great distance, a traveler from an alien world.

Not sure of the exact date. You may not be able to see it with the naked eye. I am sure that there will be plenty of images from telescopes when the times comes.
