Alien abduction theories

Alien abduction theories

There have been countless abduction stories over the years from abductees who claim they were abducted by aliens beings.
After the end of world war two there was an increase in science fiction novels and many books and films, stories for television were produced.
We remember films like close encounters of the third kind war of the worlds, the X-files and some of us who are little older the Invaders, lost in space etc.

We have grown up with a culture of science fiction especially over the last three decades to the extent that science fiction has become science fact.

I have no doubt the people who claimed to be abducted feel traumatized or indeed recall experiencing actual physical trauma or discomfort and they perceive that this has actually happened to them.
The majority of abductees are well adjusted normal human beings with no history of mental illness however when the abductees were interviewed most of them recall a similar story of being abducted seeing a bright lights, grey humanoid looking beings or a feeling of floating and so on.

I have an open mind about this matter and I don’t intend to prejudge whether or not these incidences were actual or fabricated. The point is that these people believe that what has happened to them was genuine.

An abduction that gathered a great deal of interest in 1975 in America in which Travis Walton a logging crew contractor along with 6 other members of the logging crew who witnessed the abduction of Travis . The other men were loading up the truck when they noticed a bright light above the trees. According to the remaining crew members Travis seem captivated by the light and proceeded to walked towards it. The bright object seemed to look like a large flattened disc. The other crew members said that Travis was struck by a brilliant flash of light and thrown to the ground. This event panicked the remaining crew members causing them to flee. They later returned to the scene but there was no sign of Travis. He was later found some 5 days later and was in a scared and confused state. His memory of the past 5 days was fragmented but remembers seeing alien beings and being lifted up.

Travis Walton and the rest of his crew passed a lie detector test and the event became a motion picture called “Fire in the sky.”

Was this a very elaborate story? Not for me to say I wasn’t there. Could this have happened? Quiet possibly. This event gained massive media attention and the subsequent area where the craft was first seen was filled with people therefore any forensic evidence that remained was deemed worthless.

There are many theories regarding this incident none have been substantiated.
How could anyone possibly really believe that such a thing had happened to them if they weren't just plain bonkers?
Research shows that people showing symptoms of alien abduction are not necessarily insane, there maybe an underlying physiological cause to this phenomenon therefore we need to understand the psychology of the alien-abduction experience. Often the experience of being abducted is seeded from a dream where-by the person is actually dreaming while in a semi- waking state. Often people experience sleep paralysis where they perceive that they may be running only to recall being frozen and unable to move and while being in this state are able to see lights and hear sounds. The brain processes this information and forms what we perceive as reality.

These are only possabilities and none of these theories have been substantiated.

That is Possible

The problem with debate about unknows is how we fill the gaps in knowledge.

Speculation helps and so does some kind of follow up and varification.

For example: I have not seen and UFO and have no recollection of ever being abducted.

It is possible that both occur but what can i do to convince myself whether it is correct?

Firstly, everyone sit down, I don't want anyone to fall over!

I actually agree with Damo on this subject!!!!!!!!! (SFX: dramatic swell in music)

It is indeed perplexing, and I also saw those men interviewed and the police who took statements etc. They were normal people, no history of hallucination, and they did pass a lie detector test.

The only thing that was a problem I seem to remember was a sense of shame that they ran away in fear when they saw their friend hit by the beam.

So, was it alien? Was it USAF? We will probably never know. I suspect a lot of these sightings are in fact very advanced military craft. Tesla, for one, was working on anti-gravity and seemed to think his idea would work, and that was a long time ago. It is of interest, regarding the mad and brilliant Tesla, that about 100 of his inventions are still held not for public release by the American government.

Anyhoo, I for one, have met people who also claim this phenomena has happend to them, three females, all in Queensland, and they also claim insemination by these 'greys' and having the foetus removed at a later stage.

Even for me, who has no problem recognizing that the Earth is being visited, because of the many films, ex-government people, journalists, scientists etc, who have testified to the fact UFO's are a reality, yet it still lurks in the "SCI FI" realm, this idea of snatching.

But, if one wanted to interbreed, and you had the technology, it sure would be a clever way to infiltrate the 'enemy', through half breeds!!! These women also claim the 'greys' are intent on doing just that!

Scary thought...even scarier possibility...

In order to form a conclusion on whether or not UFO phenomenon is real or not real is depends on individual beliefs and cultural norms or perhaps faith. From my prospective I am not fully convinced that there are actual UFOs however I must also have an open mind on the matter.

I tend to make assumptions based on the level of probabilities and treat every UFO sighting separately and based on the level of evidence that has been presented make scientific analysis of the facts as presented.

My cultural background is European I have been “encoded” if you will with preconceptions and prejudices that must be put aside.

My work background is in technical forensic imaging standpoint so I need to be analytical and make assumptions based on the evidence on hand and after 40 years the best answer that I can come up with is that that the UFO phenomenon merits plausibility.

Perhaps with new technological advances and better documentation of events we may prove without doubt become convinced that UFO do exist

I have to agree with you...I did a post called The Most Notable Case, on my 'Stitch In Time' blog about Betty and Barney Hill, Travis Walton and the Alagash Four...

I wonder sometimes what's really going on all around the world?

These are normal, stable people with jobs, lives, etc.

Makes great food for thought eh? Do I believe? I believe something's goin on...just not sure what that "something" is yet..

Great read...

Take care,

Nick

Thanks for the words Fog

Which indicate that people can discuss this issue openly and agree or agree to disagree.
Issues are seperate from people.

From the my viewpoint I am yet to see convincing evidence despite the volumes presented.

This is not something that I can explain fully in a single post as I would have to use references that would require a reasonable understanding of Physics and scientific investigation. I tend to take the dogmatic approach in this and wish to see if any claim passes what many call the Balloney Test. (eg:"Show me the money")

In short it does not bother me if people wish to believe in UFOs or not. It is the scientific or objective conclussions that matter to me personally. I just want to know. Science for science sake means that truth is its final goal. Hence I will always look for some kind of reasonable evidence that can point to the most plausible answer rather than any possible answer.

Indeedy,
I accept and understand the absolute logic involved, both in Carlcan's response, and yours Damo.

I come from the standpoint of someone who is naturally suspicious of what the government claims is true, or fact, and there are many precedents to support my suspicions that governments do, at times, lie.

Being that as it is, it does not, I readily admit, mean I have a better insight, or knowledge of, or scientifically valid proof, that these phenomena exist. However, I am not alone, as hundreds of thousands of people around the world have observed, photographed and filmed objects that defy gravity and sometimes physics. I have seen one, with my nephew, at close range, and it is an experience you never forget, because it does not fit anything you know of, it is a bizarre experience.

It also does not help that governments steadfastly refuse to have anything to do with publicly addressing the issue, by allowing independant scientists to examine their film files etc, of things finally denoted as "unexplained" or "unidentifiable."

As I have said before, the "ufo" moniker applies to something that is unexplainable; that is; after all other possibilities have been exhausted and eliminated (98% of ufo reports are explained/proved as being something else, natural or manmade), what is left is about 2% of photographic evidence which defies explanation. This was admitted by the French government investigators.

It is all so difficult an area anyway. The only tangible physical evidence which seems related to UFOs, (but not as yet proved to be so), are crop circles, which have given up a wealth of scientific information that is extremely hard to explain, if not impossible, as being man made.

But no one really knows exactly who, or what, is behind them.

I have heard that one scientist has proffered, crop circles, may be the imprint of 4th dimensional (or greater), bodies/objects travelling through space and colliding with the surface of Earth...this came about I think because of the geometry, which is also multidimensional, in that a computer can extract the 2D image and 'pull it out' so to speak, and one sees a much more complex figure....but...who knows?!!

If I had the grey matter, I'd study astrophysics and the like and try and build myself a bloody ufo!

Saves on petrol, and is bloody quick!!

cheers
