A Bolt out of the Blue

Make no mistake space is a hostile environment for humans to be in.
Working in space in not like a walk in the park.Outer space can be extremely hazardous there is always a chance an astronaut could be struck by a high speed projectile like a micro meteor of a bit of space junk.
Space junk has become more of a problem over the last 30 years as many hundreds of satellites have been launched into space by various nations.
Many have burned up on re- entry some have struck the ground. There have been a few notable examples of pieces of space junk landing in practically our back yard.
I am referring the US former space station Skylab a debris field was found in Western Australia. Parts of a former Soviet satellite crashed in a remote area of Canada some years ago.
If you venture into the night sky chances are you will see a piece of space debris burn up in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. While most meteors seen in the night sky are tiny objects of space dust some are bits of booster rocket casings, satellites that have decayed in orbit or material that was lost while astronauts were performing space walks.
What appears to be a bit of space junk burning up was just a high flying passenger aircraft con trail
Astronauts are noted for being meticulous when it comes to performing space walks, but on occasions they lose things like gloves or bolts.
The latest Endeavour space shuttle walk astronauts performing routine maintenance lost a series of bolts some may burn up in months to come. You never know you may be struck by a bolt out of the blue chances are you may have better luck winning the lottery.

A lottery win would be better than a hit on the head. If the price of living goes up any further we are going to need it.
LOL.
