2011 A Good Year for Comets

Comet C/2010 V1 The 3 little streaks are not comets they are stars in the background unfortunately the telescope was not tracking properly
This year 2011 is turning out to be a good year for comet observers. . Comet 103P/Hartley has made a come back although at magnitude 6 good enough to be seen with a pair of binoculars.
(Ikeya-Murakami) is a newly discovered comet. Ikeya is known for co-discovering the 20th century’s brightest comet, C/1965 S1 (Ikeya-Seki). Comet C/2010 V1 is making its first trip into the inner solar system. Comet C/2010 can be seen in the Northern hemisphere in the early morning.
Comet 103P/Hartley rises just after midnight and is located just passed the bright star Procyon in Canis Minor, ( The constellation of the little dog) A star chart or computer software program would help you find it.
Although it is early days this year hopefully we will be able to see these fuzzy snowballs. Each comet is different you just don’t know what you will get. There are a multitude of comets yet to be discovered. Some will come and venture close to our Solar system while others travels the distant outer fringes of our Solar System.

Thank you for the comment.
I am not sure if the two Murakami's are related. Haruki Murakami I believe is a well known author.
I was referring to Kaoru Ikeya and Tsutomu Seki independently co discovered Ikeya-Seki comet on 1965.
The current discovery of Comet C/2010 V1 by
ikeya-murakami may be co incidental.

They are still are a great source of interest even after 40 years studying them, and perhaps a bit of mystery as well.
I keep comming back.
